Paolo Uccello - The Battle of San Romano (c. 1455)

Paolo Uccello is very attached to the late Gothic style, he cannot detach himself and give vent to novelties.
Everything is geometry, well-studied depth, multiplied points of view.
The study of spears creates movement and depth.
The armours, which suffers the passage of time and has lost the shine of silver, created an effect of photographic reality.
