Antonello da Messina - Christ at the column (1475-1479)

One of Antonello da Messina's masterpieces perhaps among the most suggestive ever.
A small-sized table that is a real jewel of Italian art. The consistency of the rope is real, it seems to be able to touch it, as are the hair and the face.
A wonderful detail: the tears seem so real that they no longer understand where the painting technique begins and where reality ends.
