Paul Cézanne - Mont Sainte-Victoire (1896-1898)

More than in front of a painting, here we are facing a real symphony.
The whole work is built on the rhythm of long and short brush strokes that build the volumes of the landscape. The greatest conditioning is that of the imposing mountain which seems to direct the global rhythm of the work. This is the beginning of a path that will lead Cézanne to break down the figures through the brush strokes, creating real mosaics.
