Pieter de Hooch - Mistress and maid (c. 1660)

A perfect place. How perfect is Pieter de Hooch's genre painting. Everything in its place, everything perfectly clean. All perfectly static and cold.
Human figures have the task of giving a little life and movement in such perfection, live but not too much.
A gate opens in the background. It is the access to Amsterdam, chosen by the painter as a residence after 1600. Desire for change, perhaps, since everything went perfectly in Delft.
Among the trees the true protagonist of the painting. A building built with a reality and precision to scare the best camera.
