François Boucher - Landscape near Beauvais (1740-1745)

Protected by Madame de Pompadour, one of the winners of the Prix de Rome. During his stay in Italy he became passionate and studied Raphael, Correggio, Pietro da Cortona and Tiepolo.
His style is very free and highly personal.
His art includes landscape, historical painting, portrait and tapestries, those of Beauvais and Gobelins.
Theater and scenography are among his interests, as we can see from this scenic reproduction of a landscape he knew very well.
