Robert Campin - Trinity (c. 1430)

A hieratic painting, rigid and with almost marble outlines. Robert Campin decided to represent this dogma without the slightest trace of sentimentality, being precisely a founding law of Christian thought.
Everything is a symbol and a concept: the pelican (Eucharist), the lioness (Resurrection), the Church and the Synagogue. All the rules of iconography are respected.
A Trinity on the throne that respects the construction of the best Sacred Conversations, a three-way conversation, intimate and strong.
